Frequently Asked Questions.
FAQs
Why Do You Prefer Cash Pay?
Working outside the limits of insurance gives us more freedom, depth, and creativity.
🌿 Flexibility — Insurance restricts session type, location, and duration. Cash-pay allows us to meet outdoors, extend sessions, or structure therapy to fit you, not a billing code.
🔐 Privacy + Autonomy — Insurance requires a diagnosis and keeps records. Cash-pay keeps our work confidential.
🌀 More Depth — We’re not just checking boxes. We’re slowing down, working somatically, and creating lasting change.
💬 Shared Investment — I find cash-pay clients are often deeply invested in their healing, bringing energy and openness to the process.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. through third-party platforms (Rula, Tava, Headway), I can accept many major plans, including Select Health, Cigna and United.
Not sure if I take your plan? Reach out and I’ll help you check.
What if you don’t take my insurance?
You can still see me as an out-of-network provider. I provide superbills (detailed receipts) you can submit for reimbursement. Many clients receive partial to full reimbursement this way. Ask your insurance provider about out of network benefits. You often have more options than they want you to know.
Why are some sessions cash pay only?
Insurance doesn’t usually cover outdoor sessions, walk & talk therapy, or extended intensives. These options are available as private pay.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Credit/debit cards (via Stripe), Venmo, and other secure methods. Payment is due at the time of service unless we’ve set up a payment plan.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. You can split private-pay sessions into 2, 3, or 4 installments. This applies to all in-office, virtual, and walk & talk sessions. (Note: payment plans are not available with insurance.)
What are your rates?
30–45 minutes — $110
60 minutes — $170
Package: 4 × 60-minute sessions for $600 (save $80 → includes Parenting Workbook)
All sessions are the same rate, whether in-office, virtual, walk & talk, or in-home (case by case).
What can I expect from an intensive?
Intensives are extended sessions (90 or 120 minutes) designed to help us go deeper without rushing.
Examples:
Parents seeking tools for connection & conflict
Families preparing for a child’s transition home from treatment
Individuals wanting somatic work for trauma, stress, or life transitions
Do you meet outdoors in all seasons?
Yes, if it feels safe and supportive. Sessions can continue outdoors in cooler weather or light rain if both of us feel comfortable and equipped. If conditions are unsafe (snow, ice, extreme cold, poor air quality), we’ll shift indoors or virtual instead. Safety first, always.
Where do you meet in person?
Sugarhouse (inside the Neighborhood Hive)
Midvale (American Executive Office Suites)
Local trails (such as Rotary Park in Draper)
Parks (such as Liberty Park, Memory Grove, or the International Peace Gardens)
What’s different about your approach?
I combine traditional therapy with somatic practices, mindfulness, and an integrative perspective (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual). It’s less about quick fixes and more about finding safety, connection, and lasting integration.
How do I book?
Start with a free 15-minute consultation
After that, we’ll schedule sessions via text or email — whichever feels most comfortable.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 12 hours’ notice to avoid being charged for a missed session.
